Paddy Power launches ‘Brexit Bunker’ marketing campaign
Irish bookmaker & online Bingo Provider, Paddy Power, has announced the launch of a new viral marketing campaign ‘The Brexit Bunker’, which is an attempt to offer the UK’s gambling public ‘an escape from the madness’ that is the current politic situation.
With just over one week to go until the UK is meant to be leaving the European Union on 29 March 2019, and with Brexit negotiations at a standstill as the government continue to try to agree the departure arrangements for exiting the EU, Paddy Power has created its own ‘Brexit Bunker’ to help people get away from the stagnating political atmosphere.
Eric Cantona to be official Brexit ambassador
The Brexit Bunker is set to be hosted by former Manchester United captain, Eric Cantona, who is famous for being one of the Premier League’s most controversial players in the 1990’s. The outspoken former French international has been crowned as ‘official Brexit ambassador’ by Paddy Power, as part of the campaign, and they will run a competition to stay at the Brext Bunker with Cantona.
The bunker will be a fortified structure that will be located in the middle of the sea, somewhere between the UK and France, with no access to news or social media.
One lucky winner to be invited to the Brexit Bunker
Cantona, who is well known for his choice of words when describing certain situations said, “Brexit is like Boris Johnson’s hair, he’s the only one who doesn’t think it’s a complete disaster. I have created the Brexit Bunker: A British Noah’s Ark. Here, one specially selected Brit can take shelter from the constant bombardment of Brexit chatter, thanks to Cantona and Paddy Power.”
A spokesman for Paddy Power questioned who is better to help solve Brexit than Europe’s finest export, Eric Cantona? The Frenchman will open the Brexit Bunker and has practised his Prime Ministerial duties, by dancing, and now wants to offer a lucky customer with the chance to escape the ensuing political chaos.
